Football Playoffs |
|
The Buccaneers will play the
Woodville Eagles in the area
round of the playoffs, this
Friday, November 20, 2009, at
7:30 p.m. in Huffman at
Falcon Stadium. East
Chambers will be the visiting
team. Playoff brackets for 2A

New
Gymnasium Debuts with Victory
over Huffman |

The Lady Bucs hosted the
Huffman Falcons in the first
game held in the new
gymnasium on Tuesday,
November 17, 2009. All three
teams beat the Falcons -
freshman 19-9, junior
varsity 49-13, and varsity
74-42.
The crowd enjoyed the new
facilities, and positive
comments were shared by many
throughout the night.

Highlights of the varsity game
included the following: Lindsey
McDonald 21 points; Nicole Honea
12 points; Courtney Joseph 11
points; Jasmine Carrington 10
points and 11 rebounds; Abbey
Johnson 9 points and 10
rebounds. The varsity record is
now 5-1. View

Volleyball Selections Announced |

District 23-AA
all-district volleyball
selections were announced.
Representing East Chambers High
School are: 1st team
All-District - Shelby Franzen;
2nd team All-District - Lindsey
McDonald; Honorable Mention:
Jasmine Carrington and Ali Way.

Lady Bucs
Beat Hemphill to Win Tournament |
|
Both the junior varsity and
varsity girls basketball teams
won the Warren Tournament by
beating Hemphill in the finals.
Jasmine Carrington and Lindsey
McDonald were selected to the
All-Tournament Team. The Lady
Bucs are coached by David Penny
and Kristy Baker.
Junior Varsity: Game 1 Kountze
57-12 ; Game 2 Evadale
40-29;Game 3 Big Sandy 42-14;
Game 4 Hemphill 29-25
(Championship).
Varsity: Game 1 Livingston JV
57-37;
Game 2 Evadale 60-53;
Game 3 Hemphill 46-41
Championship;
Championship game Jasmine
Carrington 19 points;
Courtney Joseph 13 points and
Lindsey McDonald 9 points.

Junior
High Girls Basketball Wins
Second Place |
|
The 7th and 8th grade Lady
Bucs placed 2nd at the
Nederland Central Middle
School tournament. Both
teams defeated Bridge City
on Friday night, and
Marshall Middle School on
Saturday morning. The Lady
Bucs both lost to
Hardin-Jefferson on Saturday
afternoon in the
championship. Coaches Sarah
Fontenot and Regina Wagner
were very pleased by how
well the girls played.

Keyboarding Placement Exam
to be Given |
|
All eighth grade students will
be given the opportunity to take
a keyboarding/word processing
placement exam on December 9,
2009. It is strictly optional,
but those students who sign up
for and master the requirements
by passing the exam will be
exempt from having to take the
high school keyboarding course.

been provided by Ms. Rainey in
